It's common for newborns and younger infants to go to bed a bit later.

This is because their longest stretch of sleep ends up being in line with when baby’s caregivers head to bed themselves.

This is totally normal. Enjoy the snuggles. Bedtimes tend to shift a bit earlier around 8-10 weeks.

This post isn’t to scare you.

this post is to make you realize that the little things that may happen in the years to come with your baby’s sleep are normal.

The random wake ups, the random short naps, the regressions, it’s all normal.

It doesn’t always have to be a certain thing that we are doing right or wrong that impacts our child’s sleep.

Don’t get me wrong, 90% of the time it is something that we can try to troubleshoot.

But a lot of the times it’s just normal.

So many questions when it comes to newborns.

❓When does the morning start?

❓When does the night end?

🌞🌚Does my newborn have their days and nights mixed up?

My numero 1 tip for newborns is: think of their day as a 12 hour interval....

For example:
➡️if bedtime is 8pm
➡️morning is 8am

🧠The best way to signal the brain that morning has officially started is to:

☀️Open up your baby's curtains
🤱🏽Take your baby into a natural, well lit room for their first feed

What are your biggest newborn struggles?

🧸They can be tricky, but enjoy these days with newborn snuggles- there are so many fun milestones ahead!

🤍 I greatly understand and respect anyone’s concern for their baby’s well being, and I want to assure you that the approach I will take with your little one will allow you to stay close to them, offer comfort, reassure them, and respond to their needs while they gradually learn to fall asleep independently.

🤍I absolutely encourage you to remain present and responsive throughout the process and will never ask you to do anything that can damage your relationship with your baby.

I love this quote.
