Attorney Polina Bodner Shapiro was born in the former Soviet Union in 1978. She immigrated to the United States in 1994, settling in Springfield, MA. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield college (Magna Cum Laude, 2000) and a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School (Magna Cum Laude, 2004), where she served as an editor on the Suffolk Law Review. Polina worked for fou

r years as an associate attorney at Ropes & Gray, LLP in Boston, MA and then for one year as a clerk to Justice Gary S. Katzmann at the Massachusetts Court of Appeals, also in Boston. Polina is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts, U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which has jurisdiction over cases arising in Connecticut, New York and Vermont. In her spare time, Polina enjoys regional arts and entertainment scene, foreign films, ethnic cuisine and nature hikes.

This season, we took a short break from legal writing, court hearings, briefs and statutes to embrace creativity at our holiday party. Many people think attorneys only work in courtrooms and offices, but so much of what we do happens outside of them. Just a few days ago, Attorney Shapiro visited one of our clients as she settled into her new home.
