This Memorial Day, the City and County of Honolulu continues its 75-year tradition of Sew-a-Lei โ€” placing a fresh handmade lei on every grave at Pลซowaina to honor the service members resting there. It's Hawaiสปi's way of saying mahalo to those who gave everything.

Organized by MOCA (the Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts), the tradition weaves together community, creativity, and culture โ€” including a poster contest for Hawaii's keiki each year.

We love how art and remembrance come together in something this meaningful. Happy Memorial Day to all who served. ๐Ÿค

DRMTM spent last week building up better brands โ€” delivering our 2-hour Bold Brand Breakthrough to nonprofit leaders through our incredible partner Extraordinary Charities, and presenting on the power of branding in public art and cultural plans at the Florida Association of Public Art Professionals.

Watching nonprofit leaders light up as they discover their brand story is one of the best parts of this work. And connecting brand strategy to the world of public art? That conversation was long overdue.

We toured the community sites of our new client, Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County last week โ€” and one stop changed everything.

Their Fork in the Road culinary program is led by Chef Dan, a high-level hospitality professional who chose to build something meaningful over corporate acclaim. Young people earn wages, gain confidence, and leave with a trade. Some become chefs. Some run their own food businesses. Some lead nonprofit feeding initiatives.

When Chef Dan handed us bottles of house-made hot sauce right off their food truck, we weren't just holding condiments. We were holding proof that when you invest in people, something powerful happens.

That's the heart of bold nonprofit branding: lead with belief, not a list of services. Your story lives in the people your mission touches every day.

We made it back from Syracuse โ€” and wow, what a week! ๐ŸŽ‰

DRMTM partnered with CNY Arts to bring our Bold Brand Revolution workshop to Central New York's arts and culture community, and the organizations who showed up brought their A-game. We're talking real conversations about brand identity, honest self-assessment, and bold thinking about what's next.

And yes โ€” Bad Brand Bingo was a hit.

We're celebrating this beautiful weekend with some equally beautiful news from right here in our backyard.

A huge congratulations to IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area for awarding $1,313,000 in nonprofit grants for 2026. Over 1,000 women โ€” including DRMTMโ€™s own Laura Bessinger. One thousand dollars each. One enormous act of collective generosity for this community.

And how did Pensacola mark the moment? The way Pensacola marks everything that matters โ€” on The Graffiti Bridge. ๐ŸŽจ

There is something so perfectly right about that. New growth, painted in layers, for everyone to see.
