Networking update… I think I'm finally getting the hang of this! 😊

Yesterday, I attended the West Point Chamber of Commerce meeting at Brickhouse Creations Studio, LLC rickhouse Creations Studio, and what a fun evening!

Sometimes stepping into something new can feel a little scary, but being open to new experiences has brought me some wonderful surprises. We painted little flamingos on the farm, heard the sweet story behind Brickhouse Creations, and learned about all the amazing things they're doing.

🎣 Fishing and wildlife adventures

And apparently, the ducks even came out to greet everyone! 🦆

Thank you to the West Point Chamber for providing opportunities to connect, support local businesses, and discover things in my own hometown that I may have never known about otherwise.

STOP treating onboarding like a paperwork chore. 🛠️

If your version of onboarding is handing a new tech a stack of tax forms and saying, "Fill this out, then ride with Jimmy today," you might be setting them up to walk right back out the door.

Onboarding isn't a one-day paperwork dump. It happens BEFORE and AFTER the hire. It’s about setting the stage so your new team member actually feels supported from day one.

To set your new hires up for success, you need:
✅ A structured training plan
✅ Clear guidance on who to go to for help
✅ The "little things" (Like how to view their paycheck or, yes, even where the bathroom is!)

I always tell the business owners I partner with: I know HR, but I don't know how you do things here. Every shop is different. Let’s work together to bridge that gap and build an onboarding process that keeps your best people on the payroll.
