Compassionate Homemaker/Companion’s Needed

Primary duties of the position will include:
Carrying out essential tasks of a Homemaker/Companion or equivalent position with consideration for the established methods and routines of the client/family.
Performing household tasks such as grocery shopping, errands, light housekeeping, driving to appointments as needed.
Providing assistance for activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Planning and preparing meals according to client/family requests.
Performing other duties as necessary to support the client as directed by the management team and prepared care plan
Requirements of the position
Excellent skills in organization and communication and true dedication for the work is needed. Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
Ability to get along with people, a sympathetic attitude and ability to adjust to varying complex home situations; ability to work well with other staff members.
Basic understanding of computers using Google platform and smartphone ownership
Must be able to provide verifiable employment reference, one of which needs to be a prior supervisor.
Local to area – within 45 minutes from Westbrook area preferred
Experience in dementia preferred
Must be able to drive and have a current driver license and reliable transportation. Candidates without a license will not be considered, as driving is a requirement.
Flexibility to cover weekends, days, nights or holidays

Pay is based on experience - prior experience in the field strongly preferred.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including moving and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing, walking, ability to ascend and descend stairs. Requires vision and hearing corrected to a normal range. Occasionally lifts and carries or moves items up to 30 pounds or more.
