Framed by Jane

Framed by Jane Hello Friends! I have finally, finally (!) created my Framed by Jane page! My husband and I, on our travels, would pick up art wherever we traveled.

I invite you to take a peek at the beautiful art that falls into my hands, and that I have the privilege to make even more beautiful. It would then need to be framed, and after having other talented framers do the work for me, I thought, hmmm, I think I will take a class and learn how to do this myself. After taking a 10 week course, solely for the purpose of framing my own collections, I found th

at it was something I truly enjoyed. I pursued it further, taking an extensive one on one course on Long Island, which led me on the path to owning my own, very small, business. I have always been a hands on person, Horticulture/Greenhouse Management being my first (still is) true love. After many years of enjoying the pleasure of growing and nurturing my own plants, and selling at local Farmer's Markets, I decided it was time for something new. Framed by Jane was born! I invite you to "LIKE" my page, and also to invite your friends to do so! I work from home, and would be delighted to frame your diplomas, watercolors, whatever you need to have in a frame! Thank you in advance for liking my page!

My Framed by Jane page has been asleep for a while, time to Rise and Shine! I would like to share the latest pieces of lovely art I am in the process of re-framing. These beautiful original pieces were gifted to a friend, but their beauty is somewhat diminished by the out of date framing. The type of custom framing I do is conservation, which means there is no acid in the materials used for the framing coming in contact with the art. In this first piece, you can see in the close up of the matboard, that it is brown on the bevels, which is the acid leaking out, browning and eventually weakening the paper. The corner of the frame has come apart, allowing the elements to enter the frame and potentially damage the art.I am so excited to take these lovely works of art, and transform them to accentuate their beauty! Here is a preview of "Abstract in Browns"
Previews of "Violet Path" and an unnamed piece, by Paul W. Wood to follow

Another completed piece, before and after! One of the most satisfying aspects of the work I do, is the pleasure of enjoying the many different pieces of art that fall into my hands, if only for a short while. A perk.
