One of the biggest mistakes I see instructors make is creating super long, dancey combos that clients can’t actually follow.
If your sequence has 6 different steps, direction changes, arm variations, AND tempo changes all thrown at them at once… your clients are spending more time trying to remember the combo than actually feeling the work.
Most clients are NOT dancers.
They don’t want to feel lost in class.
Teach SMARTER with layered sequencing instead. 👏
Here’s how I teach combinations inside Inner Shift Barre:
✨ Teach step 1
✨ Let them learn it
✨ Teach step 2
✨ THEN layer them together into a combo
This keeps clients feeling confident, strong, and connected to the movement instead of overwhelmed trying to memorize choreography.
The best barre classes aren’t the most complicated.
They’re the most intentional.
This is exactly how I teach every Inner Shift Barre class. Get all my class plans and sequences (tried and tested with my in-person clients!), inside Choreo Club!
