This is what sandy fluvial soil with 60% gravel looks like. The red colored one is from Langlade County near the terminal morain, consisting of soil from the Holy Hill Formation associated with the Green Bay lobe of the Late Wisconsin glacial period, that siphoned in red parent material from red beds in Canada. Soil testers conducting site evaluations aka "perc tests" should be aware of what 60$ gravel looks like as anything over 60% may require more separation between the septic system and indicators of groundwater. The less red sample is from west of Milwaukee, in the Oak Creek formation associated with the Lake Michigan Lobe, which can have some red parent material, but typically is a 10YR or 7.5 YR color.
