A franchise fee is not the price of the business.
A $40,000 franchise fee might sit inside a total startup investment of $150,000, $300,000, or more.
The rest often includes:
• Buildout or leasehold improvements
• Equipment
• Initial inventory
• Training and travel
• Opening marketing
• Insurance and licenses
• Working capital while the business ramps up
The better comparison sits in Item 7 of the FDD: Estimated Initial Investment.
A lower franchise fee does not automatically mean a lower-cost business.
Before comparing brands, compare the full amount required to open, operate, and reach stability.
