Meet the Grazers Monday

This week we are featuring Green 0745.

Green 0745 was born May 29th, 2023, right in front of the hay feeders. She is a white doe, born at 6.7 pounds, and came as a twin—her twin being tan. Her dam is Yellow 036 from Iowa Kikos, a white doe with red freckles and red ears. Her sire is either Tobias or Neptune (you can learn more about them in our highlights), and her grandsire also traces back to Iowa Kikos.

She had her first set of kids on April 10th, 2025—twins sired by Rusty, our current senior herd sire. For a first-time mom, she’s done a great job and is right on track to become a solid foundation doe in our herd.

She’s moved through the herds over the years—Herd 3 in 2023, Herd 5 in 2024, and Herd 2 in 2025. Any guesses what herd she’ll be in for 2026?

There’s something about stepping into the barn and barnyard first thing in the morning. The sounds, the routine, the familiar work waiting to be done. It sets the tone for everything that follows.

Some days it’s easy to move through it without much thought. Just another chore, another task. But other days, you’re reminded to slow down and take it in for what it is.

Psalm 100:4 says to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. It’s an invitation to come in with the right posture, not because everything is perfect, but because He is still worthy.

Gratitude isn’t always automatic. Sometimes it’s a choice. A decision to notice what’s good, even in the middle of hard or ordinary days.

Out here, there’s always something to be thankful for if you’re willing to see it. The steady work, the provision, the life moving all around.

Maybe today is a reminder to walk into whatever is in front of you with a different mindset. Not rushed, not distracted, but thankful.

Start there and let everything else follow.

Screamer had quads! If you are a past customer who had screamer in their herd you know that this doe earned her name. She has four bucks to teach to scream this year.

Sometimes when we do late night checks we find does and kids in the pasture. They were pretty close to the barn so we left the lights on to help deter the yotes and make it easier for the new mom managing triplets. The black doe in the background had a single white kid, as far as we can tell. While the rest of the herd headed to the barn and barnyard for the night, she stayed out in the pasture beside the new mom and her triplets.
