Nature Divine: We, Sacred Things That Grow is a symbolic tribute to the indigenous, unglamorous, and sometimes downright bitter “root work” we must undertake to discover our belonging within the divine order of all life. It is a prayer for re-connection.

It is both amazing and terrifying that YOU get to decide what you value - how you spend your time, your money, your energy...

Whenever you get the chance, consciously choose to invest in your well-being. Go to bed earlier. Meditate for five minutes a day. Say no. Give kindness to yourself and others. Set aside some dollars for your personal development. These "small" choices add up and allow you to give exponentially more of yourself to the world.

You only get one life, one body, one brain. Steward these precious resources well!

Instead of "practice makes perfect" how about "practice builds resiliency"...?

In today's insanely busy, distracted way of life, we too easily miss moments with the people and things that matter most to us...
..Practicing mindfulness is a way to be present to enjoy more of those moments!

Contrary to popular belief, mindfulness is a secular practice that strengthens our natural capacity as human beings to be present and aware. We can "practice" by setting aside a few minutes a day to just breathe or be grateful, and by taking an attitude of being mindful and kind through all activities of our daily lives.

With "practice," we build awareness muscles, and the ability to be more curious and compassionate about whatever is happening in the moment. We can learn to hold the weights of both encouraging and difficult circumstances, tolerating both positive and negative feelings, while calming our stress reactions and responding consciously and with care. Over time, this "practice" trains our brain and stress response systems to be more resilient.

To me, that's better than "perfect."

I began to dream up Glasswing Creative LLC one year ago this month! Already, I have learned so much on this journey - seeking to create work at the intersection of what Frederick Buechner calls "the world's deep hunger" and "my deep gladness." Creating a dream job that does not yet exist involves a lot of trial and error, and I have received a lot of funny looks when I try to describe what I'm up to! But, slowly, I am learning to clarify and communicate a vision that energizes me and meets a need in the world. If you're curious about my passion for well-being, what I actually "do," or if you are thinking you might like to take a leap of faith in your vocation too, check out my updated website (www.glasswingcreative.com) and contact me!

I believe that well people willing to pursue transformational growth are needed to heal our world. The challenges we face today require us to be at our best: courageous, compassionate, aware, willing to experiment and fail, and capable of re-imagining a more connected future.
