The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Install garage door components: tracks, doors, springs, and electric garage door openers
- Provide trouble-shooting for determining cause of mal-functioning doors
- Ensure the proper functioning of the garage door
- Maintain inventory of regularly used materials, promptly ordering replacements
- Maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License
The candidate requirements are:
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals
- Mechanical aptitude
- Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools – required to have own tools
- Attention to detail
- High morals, strong ethical character
- Team-oriented
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent critical thinking ability
- Effective interpersonal communication skills, including active listening with co-workers and customers
- High school diploma/equivalent required
This job can work either inside a structure or outside in varying weather conditions. Work is regularly performed with the use of a ladder. This position requires the moving of the entire body for standing, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, twisting, stooping, reaching, handling various material, and the lifting and carrying of up to 100 pounds.
This position will be eligible for healthcare benefits, profit sharing, paid vacation leave, paid holidays, tool allowance and cell phone reimbursement. Starting rate of $11.00 - $14.00 an hour.
