Please keep a close eye on this storm! Wilmington, NC and vicinity is looking at over 10" of rainfall, which can cause flooding in an already saturated area. Additionally, the new models show a track back towards the Brunswick County/New Hanover County areas of North Carolina. Be prepared!! SaunZien will be covering this storm live as it nears!

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

A non-tropical area of low pressure is expected to form near the
northwestern Bahamas around midweek. This system could gradually
acquire some subtropical characteristics by Thursday or Friday as it
moves generally northward at a slow forward speed. The next Special
Tropical Weather Outlook will be issued on this system by 11 AM EDT
Tuesday.

Wishing everyone good luck, especially to those who are in the direct path of Irene. Wilmington...even though we are not in the eye path, we can still expect adverse conditions, so please do not let your guard down!
