๐ก๏ธ OSHA Extends National Emphasis Program on Heat-Related Hazards ๐ก๏ธ
The U.S. Department of Labor has extended OSHAโs National Emphasis Program (NEP) on Outdoor and Indoor Heat-Related Hazards until April 8, 2026. This program has been critical in protecting employees from heat-related injuries and illnesses in workplaces across the country.
๐ Key achievements so far (2022โ2024):
7,000 heat-related inspections conducted
60 citations for General Duty Clause violations
1,392 Hazard Alert Letters issued
Nearly 1,400 employees removed from dangerous heat-related conditions
๐ OSHA will continue targeted inspections, compliance assistance, and outreach efforts to prioritize heat safety. Fatalities, complaints, and referrals related to heat hazards will remain a top priority for inspections.
