Yesterday I drove miles out in the middle of nowhere to do a drone shoot with a local social media star Logger Mack. I was able to get some good b-roll in about an hour or until my fingers were froze. Check out his TikTok, Facebook, and Youtube videos!

Last week VAS was called to assist the Delta County Sheriff Office with a lost subject on the Stonington Peninsula. We used an infrared drone to search an area where the subject was suspected to be in. When search and rescue was sent into the marshy area to check on thermal indicators discovered by the drone, they were able to obtain verbal contact with the subject. The drone then used its beacon lights and spot light to illuminate the marsh and help find a clear path back to safety. This subject was very fortunate to be found alive.

Congratulations to Nicholas and Alyssa Lippens who tied the knot on August 6, 2022. They were married on family property in Bark River Michigan. The views of this place were amazing and it was a beautiful wedding. Here are a few drone pictures of that special day.

Last week 2- 90,000 gallon propane storage tanks were delivered to a new propane rail depot being built in Escanaba by U.P. Propane. VAS was there to film the final movements of these massive tanks. These trucks with their loads came from West Texas and were over 17ft tall, 187ft long, and weighed over 280,000lbs!!! U.P. Propane saw a need for building a rail terminal in Escanaba. In the event of losing Enbridges Line 5, availability of propane at the next available truck terminal ,Ashland WI, will be scarce and the lines of trucks will be hours long. Thank you U.P. Propane for investing in our community to bring us reliable availability of propane to heat our homes!

It's been some time since I have posted, but here is a structure fire scene VAS assisted at for the local FD. The drone used is an Enterprise model which uses dual cameras to capture visual and infrared scenes. The camera can also be used to measure temperatures which aids in finding hot spots during mop up. As you can see, even through thick smoke the infrared camera can pick up hot spots. I can adjust the isotherm settings to target the temperatures I want to see, in this case just the hot spots are showing up. This drone is also equipped with a 1200 lumen spot light. As you can see the spot light works as a great scene light, especially for areas where lighting is limited or impossible to get to.
