One thing many people do not realize is that a large portion of SLC’s work is within the interior design industry.

We work with interior designers and design firms across the country and internationally on leadership development, communication, accountability, team dynamics, and operational growth. Because of that, I am always paying attention to resources that help strengthen both the client experience and the internal experience of the team.

As a Business of Design Partner, I have also seen firsthand how much intentional project management and clear communication can completely change the trajectory of a project.

The truth is, many project challenges are not created in the middle of the project. They are created at the beginning through unclear expectations, undefined scope, weak boundaries, and inconsistent communication.

That is why I wanted to share this upcoming Project Initiation Bootcamp from Business of Design.

At SLC, we use a tool called the "Wheel of Life." It asks clients to evaluate eight areas of their lives, rate their current level of satisfaction in each area, and define their priorities.

This method breaks through the overwhelm of having to do everything all at once and allows clients to make the most progress in the areas that are most impactful.

Stephen R. Covey is right—the key is not to prioritize what's already on your schedule. It's to determine your priorities and create space for them in your life.
