Way ahead of their time

How do you even decide who the "rightful owner" of land is? I see this argument all the time. Some group loses land due conflict of some sort, whether it be war, colonization, etc. and then claim that it was unjustly taken from them.

But pretty much every national border in the world was forged from this sort of conflict. And it's not even new. As recently as the 1940s Germany lost a bunch of territory after WWII that they had held prior to the N**i expansion of the borders. And then there are the ones that were themselves conquerors or colonizers. There are countries today that exist entirely outside of their original borders and contain none of the original territory of their people.

Should all of the Anglo-Saxon or Roman descended people of the British Isles pay reparation to the Celtic descendants? Should Russia give Kaliningrad back to Germany? What about nations that no longer exist? Should we restore the Habsburg Empire since that family ruled so much of Europe for centuries?

I don't get it. What's the standard?

Thing that passes me off: People mischaracterizing what "woke" means, or claiming that no one knows what it means.

It's really, really clear if you bother to look at all.

The short answer: People that fundamentally view the world through the lens of systems of oppression, dividing the world into "opressor" and "oppressed" groups. Race, s*x, gender, s*xual orientation, religion, disability, economics, etc. Their goal then is to fight for the oppressed and destroy any system or institution that they believe is part of that oppression.

That's it. It's not complicated at all.

My first thought was "what if they don't identify as human?"

The Modern Condition

Hey folks,

So I decided to make a page to just brain dump my nonsense. Going to probably be sort of a blog/journal sort of thing. I don't want to just blast people with posts they don't want to see, but I also like just sharing thoughts and talking to people about things.

Generally going to be social, political, philosophical, etc. sorts of topics. Easier to not shy from controversial topics if it's all opt-in.
