A year ago I launched Sidney Bruce with a bang. Little did I know my year would throw me curve balls having me question many ideals and taking a step back. Amongst them included the vanity of the fashion industry, our narcistic "marketing" culture, people's true nature and the meaning of life as a whole. It was intense to say the least. What I have discovered and reminded of is that Sidney Bruce was never about the clothes. It isn't about cool events were people can egocentrically see and be seen and it isn't about showing off one's talents for the world to praise.
Sidney Bruce is about creating a space, rather spaces for people to have a home. A home for the artists, the creators and the people who are deeply inspired by truth, beauty and diving deeper into their own potential. It is about creating space for people to speak, listen and to be silent. It is a space for people to rest, if it be in a conversation, a book or in an atmosphere dedicated to the art of hospitality. Sidney Bruce is about community. It is about a culture where our teams and talent grow and learn to create space for themselves and others. I have learned that this might not be the huge massive company that I have always dreamed it of being. And then again it might be.
I have learned that I must be faithful in the little things. I have learned to do what is right with no attachment to the outcome. I have learned not to say so much. I am learning to rest and I will continue to learn many more things as life moves along. With this being said... we shall move forward, slowly, surely and humbly. We have big mountains to climb and wonderful views at the top. Thank you all who have chosen to be on this journey with me. I think about you often, my heart bursting with gratitude.
Sidney Bruce is about the people. It always has been. It always will be.

PS There were over 100 people who volunteered to produce this event. I am blown away by the talent, passion and work ethic of Orlando and Winter Park.
