AAA Appliance Service Center was founded as a family business named AAA Service Company in suburban Kansas City in 1950 by brothers Charlie and Dale Dolbeare. Dale was drafted by the Chicago Bears, and immediately thereafter by Uncle Sam. In 1958, after Charlie passed away and Dale was discharged from the army, Dale opened the first Chicago location of AAA Service Company in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Legend holds that the reason for the ‘AAA’ part of the name was that the Fairway, Kansas office was an old remodeled gas station. Since it had a Triple-A Motor Club sign, Charlie was too “frugal” to let a perfectly good sign go to waste; hence, AAA Service Company was born.

When Your Craft Ice Starts Making Its Own Creations… 🧊

An LG refrigerator in Loves Park had an intermittent problem with its secondary Craft Ice maker. Instead of consistently producing separated ice, the homeowner was getting ice frozen together, along with enough excess water in the ice receptacle to freeze into a layer about half an inch thick.

We’ve encountered similar complaints with these newer Craft Ice systems, so based on the symptoms and refrigerator model, we preordered the replacement ice maker kit before the appointment.

That meant our technician arrived with the parts needed to address the problem during the first visit.

The Craft Ice maker kit was installed, the system was tested, and the refrigerator passed its operational tests.

This is one reason the information you give us when scheduling matters. The appliance model number, a detailed description of what it’s doing, photos, error codes, or even a short video can help us research the problem and, when appropriate, arrive with likely parts already in hand.

Fewer trips. Less waiting. And hopefully, Craft Ice that goes back to being a little less creative.
