Since moving into my home 4 years ago, my office hadn’t truly been my own - until now. Previously a shared photography workspace/gaming epicenter with my oldest, she has since been evicted and the office of my dreams is now a reality.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I very much have an attitude if “I could do that”, and DIY and home projects are just another extension of my love and need to create. My toxic trait is paying $$$ for a wallpaper mural, having never hung wallpaper 🫣 But it was a success and such an amazing focal point!

You’ll find lots of little special, meaningful details in my office. As I’m finishing up the edits on this wedding, I wanted to share a behind the scenes look at my role on a wedding day. One of my favorite compliments to receive from wedding guests is how quick and efficient I make family portraits. When it comes to photographing the big exit and knocking out group photos, a few things are required: confidence, a system and most importantly - VOLUME.

I operate using a very sophisticated system (and some healthy amount of undiagnosed ADHD) - I have days where I accomplish the bare minimum, then days where I randomly accomplish 37 things in 48 hours. This weekend’s burst of productivity included sending contracts, answering emails, getting moved back into my office, handling client stuff, and attacking my never ending to-do list. Finding myself back into a familiar rhythm has me even more excited for my fall season! Thank you to everyone who booked with me over the weekend, reached out and shared referrals! It’s shaping up to be a busy fall which means I’m incredibly blessed, and so thankful. I’m hoping to keep this momentum going and wrap up the remainer of my editing queue. Today has been the perfect start to the week. Please don’t check back tomorrow. 😂

My goal this week is to eradicate a (very cute) 16 year old from my office as I prepare to enter the busiest few months of the year… Speaking of which, I made over my office almost a year ago but only recently will I feel like I get to properly move in. Stay tuned and I’ll share my new space soon!

1 photographer. 8 sessions.

Putting these images together was interesting for me as a photographer because I can see how where I was in my career influenced some of my composition and editing choices.

But looking at them from a client’s perspective, something else really stands out and that’s just how much three things can change the overall look and feel of your photos — styling, location, and weather.

Sessions taken in the Fall will be noticeably warmer than sessions taken in the Spring, and overcast sessions will be more muted than the lighting a bright, sunny day will provide. Clothing choices can take a session from soft and neutral to bold and colorful, or from casual and relaxed to polished and formal. Locations can offer layers of texture and a variety of backdrops, while others are beautifully simple and allow your fam to stand out on its own.

I’m always happy to make suggestions and help you choose the details that will create the look you’re hoping for. It’s not unusual for me to get texts with outfits laid across a bed asking, “Do these work together?” or messages wondering if we should reschedule because the forecast is looking a little dreary.

I want every client to walk away from working together feeling as if they had the best opportunity to get the results they hoped for when booking. I can’t dictate the weather or your toddler’s willingness before bedtime, but I’ll do everything within my control to make sure your session is a success!

We’re just weeks away from the start of my busiest season and I’m so grateful at how many of you have already reached out about scheduling your families for a fall session.

As always, I will be releasing my fall schedule the first week in September once my personal dates through the end of the year are finalized. I will be offering minis on a select number of dates at a few of my favorite locations and full sessions as requested.

Anxious to see old and new friends in the coming months! Don’t forget - 4 legged friends are always welcome. Extra photos if you bring a snake or something cool…

Photographers often use a lot of buzz words to describe their work. “Timeless” is fairly high on the list, up there with classic and candid. For me, it’s as much a buzzword as it is a simple goal.

I took these photos over 10 years ago. When Larlee and Jeff just posted about their ten year wedding anniversary, I couldn’t believe it. (Seriously. I’m not that old, I don’t get how this keeps happening…) They shared a handful of engagements, wedding photos and memories from a decade of growing their family. Looking at my portraits that were included in the slideshow, I’d have composed and edited these images much the same if I photographed them today. I felt a real sense of pride at the images in 2026 as I did back then.

Turns out the real secret to “timeless” isn’t a preset or a trend… it’s photographing clients in a way that still feels like them ten years later. The fact that my editing held up after a decade is just a bonus 💁🏼‍♀️
