Three Northern Michigan driveways restored this week.

๐Ÿ“ Lake Ann
๐Ÿ“ Ga***rd
๐Ÿ“ Ellsworth

These projects ranged from a straightforward driveway regrade to severe washout restoration and a full aggregate refresh.

Some driveways simply need the existing material recovered and properly reshaped. Others require washed-out sections to be rebuilt, additional aggregate installed, drainage corrected, and the entire surface thoroughly compacted.

Every driveway is different, and the solution should be built around what the property actually needs.

Whether your driveway needs routine maintenance or has been heavily damaged by erosion, IronGrade Surface Solutions has the specialized equipment and experience to restore it properly.

NEW BOSTON โ€ข NEWPORT โ€ข BROWNSTOWN

Three communities, three completely different driveway transformations.

From reclaiming heavily overgrown gravel and restoring worn-out driveways to rebuilding a severely rutted, muddy access drive, every property received the same thorough process: power raking, grading, fresh aggregate where needed, and heavy vibratory compaction for a clean, stable finish.

A huge thank-you to these incredible customers for trusting IronGrade Surface Solutions with their properties!

Next week, IronGrade is headed north to Lake Ann, Ga***rd, and Ellsworth for more driveway transformations, washout repairs, and complete gravel restoration projects!

From simple regrades reclaiming and reshaping the material already there, to complete concrete demolition and brand-new gravel installations โ€” no two properties are the same.

Some driveways simply need to be brought back to life. Others need to be rebuilt from the ground up. Either way, the focus stays the same: proper preparation, grading, drainage, material placement, and thorough compaction for a surface built to perform.

A huge thank you to the incredible customers who have trusted IronGrade with their properties this season. Your support, referrals, and reviews have allowed this business to continue growing across Michigan, and I truly appreciate every opportunity.

Another week. Another handful of driveway transformations.

Every driveway has a story. Some have years of washboarding, potholes, and washouts. Others have simply lost their shape over time. The goal is always the same: restore the surface, improve drainage, and leave behind a driveway that's built to perform.
These before-and-after photos are from recent projects in Howell, Milan, Whitmore Lake, and Petoskey, Michigan.

No shortcuts. No simply spreading gravel over the top. Every project is approached based on the condition of the existing driveway, whether that means restoring the existing material, correcting the grade, improving the crown, or installing new aggregate where it's actually needed.
Thank you to every homeowner who has trusted IronGrade Surface Solutions with their property. Your support means everything as this business continues to grow.

If your gravel driveway has potholes, ruts, washouts, standing water, or is simply due for a refresh, I'd be happy to help.

๐Ÿก From Failing Asphalt... to a Rustic Circle Drive.

Some projects are about replacing a driveway.

This one was about completely transforming a property.

When these homeowners reached out, they had an aging asphalt horseshoe driveway that had simply reached the end of its life. Rather than replacing it with more asphalt, they wanted something that better complemented the natural beauty of their wooded property while creating a warmer, more welcoming entrance.

Together, we turned that vision into reality.

Over the course of this project, we completely removed the existing asphalt driveway, regraded the entire area, and transformed the old horseshoe into a functional circle drive. One side was intentionally closed off to create additional privacy and make room for future trees, shrubs, and landscaping.

Because converting the layout required cutting nearly 2 feet into the existing median, we constructed a natural stone retaining wall to support the grade change while giving the entrance a timeless, rustic appearance. Matching boulders were then installed along the opposite side to frame the new circle drive and tie everything together.

To finish the project, we installed clean 6A limestone, creating a bright, natural surface that perfectly complements the character of this beautiful property.

One of my favorite parts about this project is knowing it isn't truly finished yet.

The homeowners plan to continue enhancing the property by expanding the center island with mulch, additional trees, shrubs, and landscaping. Once everything begins to mature, this entrance is only going to become more beautiful, and I genuinely look forward to seeing how it evolves over the coming years.

Like many larger projects, this one came with its fair share of unexpected challenges. We encountered hidden surprises beneath the old asphalt, equipment breakdowns, and plenty of long days. That's construction. You adapt, solve problems as they arise, and keep moving forward until the job is done right.

I also have to give my 13-year-old son a little recognition. He came out on the final day and jumped right in to help finish things up. Watching him work hard, ask questions, and take pride in helping complete a project like this made an already rewarding week even better.

Most importantly, I want to thank these homeowners.

They were absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. Their patience, kindness, trust, and overall positive attitude throughout the project made this one I'll never forget. Customers like this are exactly why I love what I do.

I'm also including several reviews from some of my most recent customers along with this post. While these photos showcase the quality of the work, I believe the words of the homeowners I've had the privilege of working for speak just as loudly. Their trust, referrals, and kind words are what continue to help IronGrade Surface Solutions grow, and for that, I couldn't be more grateful.

Projects like this remind me that we're not just installing driveways...

We're helping homeowners bring their vision to life.

Thank you for trusting IronGrade Surface Solutions with yours.

๐Ÿ“ธ Be sure to swipe through all of the photos to see this transformation from start to finish, and don't forget to check out the customer reviews included with this post!

It's been a little quiet on here lately, and for good reason.

The past month and a half has been a whirlwind of long days, rain delays, multiple equipment breakdowns (on brand-new equipment, of all things), and squeezing as much work as possible into every stretch of good weather Michigan gives us.

Despite the challenges, we've completed some significant projects lately from large asphalt tear-outs converted to gravel, driveway restorations, and drainage corrections to trenching, washout repairs on steep driveways, grading, and site preparation. Every project has brought its own challenges, but that's exactly the kind of work I enjoy tackling.

Owning and operating a small business isn't always glamorous. Some days everything goes exactly as planned. Other days you're fixing equipment, adjusting schedules because of the weather, and finding a way to keep moving forward anyway.

Through it all, IronGrade continues to grow.

We recently passed 500 followers, and I want to sincerely thank every one of you. Every recommendation, review, share, and referral helps a veteran-owned small business more than you probably realize.

I'm looking forward to sharing more photos and videos from these recent projects over the coming weeks. If you're considering a driveway restoration, gravel installation, drainage solution, excavation, grading, or site preparation project, feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to discuss your project.

Thank you again for your continued support. Here's to a strong finish to the season.

Spent the week up in Manton, Michigan restoring a couple of private property driveways.

Two completely different properties, two completely different approaches. One received a restoration with 22A road gravel, while the other received a new crushed concrete foundation finished with a fresh layer of 6A limestone.

No fancy sales pitch. Just a lot of time in the machine, attention to detail, and taking pride in leaving a property better than I found it.

The best part of the week was getting to spend it with my 13-year-old son, making memories while building something Iโ€™m truly proud of.

Here are a few before and after photos from the week.

I haven't had a moment to sit down and think about everything that happened over the last seven days until now...
From Bryan Center, to Augusta, to Otsego, it was one job after another. Long days on the machine, tons of material moved, dealing with weather, meeting homeowners, running estimates, and squeezing in on-site assessments in between.
Looking back through these photos tonight while sitting next to a fire in Northern Michigan, it finally hit me just how much we accomplished in one week.
Now I'm up in Manton for the next few days, restoring a couple more driveways with my 13-year-old son by my side. These are the moments I hoped this business would create. Building something from the ground up, working hard, and making memories with my boys along the way.
I am incredibly grateful to every homeowner who has trusted me with their property and to everyone who continues to share my name and support IronGrade Surface Solutions.
This first season has been an absolute whirlwind, and we're just getting started. ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Another driveway brought back to life.

This driveway didn't need a complete reconstruction. It needed the existing surface reworked, reshaped, and brought back to life.

After removing organic buildup, correcting the surface, and adding a light application of crushed concrete where material had been lost over time, the driveway was reconditioned and compacted for a cleaner, more uniform finish.

Every property is different, which is why I take the time to evaluate each driveway and recommend the solution that makes the most sense for the homeowner.

From Sand Lake, Michigan to Fayette, Ohio.

This past week was a reminder that no two properties are the same.

Some customers need a budget-friendly driveway restoration.

Others need drainage correction, erosion control, and washout repair.

The common denominator?

Water always wins if you don't control it.
That's why I focus on solving the cause of the problem, not just covering it up.

A busy week. A lot of windshield time. A lot of dirt moved. And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.
