[mindful walk - exercise] If you've never gone for a short mindful walk, you can follow these instructions: ⁣
1️⃣ As you begin, walk at a natural pace.⁣
2️⃣ Now for a few minutes, expand your attention to sounds. ⁣
3️⃣ Shift your awareness to your sense of smell. ⁣
4️⃣ Now, move to vision: colors and objects and whatever else you see. ⁣
5️⃣ Keep this open awareness of everything around you, wherever you are. Nothing to do, nothing to fix, nothing to change. Fully aware, and walking.⁣
6️⃣ In the last moments, come back to awareness of the physical sensations of walking, wherever else your mind found itself throughout the practice. Notice your feet again touching the ground. Notice again the movements in your body with each step.⁣

I am fortunate enough to live 10 minutes away from the beautiful forest so I go there at least once a week. I hug trees and observe nature. I know that for some of you this would sound weird, I get it. If you would tell me two years ago that you are hugging trees, I would look at you a bit weird. During the past two years, I reconnected with nature more and I feel much happier. 😍 ⁣

There's no need to believe me. Here is what Science says: Hugging a tree increases levels of the hormone oxytocin. This hormone is responsible for feeling calm and emotional bonding. When hugging a tree, the hormones serotonin and dopamine make you feel happier.⁣

I encourage you to be a weirdo, go outside and hug a tree. Maybe, just maybe you'll become a happier human being. 🤗💛⁣
