Celebrating Juneteenth
Today, The Whitaker Consultant Group, LLC joins the nation in honoring Juneteenth, a sacred reminder of freedom delayed, resilience sustained, and justice still being pursued.
Juneteenth traces back to June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved people were free — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued. For many, that day marked not only the end of slavery in Texas but also the long-delayed fulfillment of a promise of freedom. Today, Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of the struggle for liberation, the resilience of African Americans, and the continuing responsibility to advance justice, equality, and opportunity.
Juneteenth is more than a celebration of emancipation; it is a call to remember the strength of our ancestors, uplift the progress of our communities, and continue building pathways of opportunity, equity, and empowerment for future generations.
As a business rooted in service, advocacy, and community development, WCG remains committed to supporting individuals, businesses, and organizations as they pursue growth, ownership, and meaningful impact.
“Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not only a moment in history, but a responsibility we carry forward through service, leadership, and the continued pursuit of justice and opportunity for all.”
