We’re pretty excited to unveil the new ASRL competition singlet for the next three seasons and officially welcome Wingman to the ASRL family!

This partnership is about much more than a logo on a singlet. Wingman shares our connection to the coast, our communities and the people who spend their lives around the ocean.

The new singlet brings Wingman and ASRL together in a design that is unmistakably surf boats featuring the boat, the surf, and a nod to Wingman’s coastal safety work with the Wingman Coastal Surveillance Plane.

You’ll start seeing plenty more of Wingman around ASRL events over the coming seasons as we bring this partnership to life both on and off the beach.

💪 Some inspiration for the younger rowers…

Meet 90-year-old Don 👏

Every day, Don escapes the nursing home on his mobility scooter and makes his way to Caves SLSC for a gym session.

Why?

Because the gym at the nursing home doesn’t have an erg. 😂

Don finishes every weights session with a 2km erg — because apparently 90 is no excuse to skip the cardio!

I asked Don, “How often do you do this?”

His answer?

“Twice every day.”

Although, I’ve heard from others that sometimes it’s three times… presumably when Don has forgotten he’s already done it twice. 😂

Now that is commitment.

To all our younger rowers: if Don can knock out a 2km erg at 90, what’s your excuse? 😉

Keep rowing, Don! 💙🚣‍♂️

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures! 💙🛶

Especially the dads who never miss an opportunity to remind us that back in their day they rowed in 16ft swell, trained at 3am, walked two hours through the snow to get there, carried the boat uphill both ways and somehow did it all with no warm-up, no recovery and absolutely no complaints. 😂

We may never know exactly how hard you had it… but we’ve certainly heard about it. 🤣

Thanks for the early mornings, the endless advice, the questionable coaching tips and, most importantly, the stories that somehow get better (and longer) every year.

Happy Father’s Day to all the surf rowing dads! ❤️

( PS, dad I know you didn’t walk to school barefoot, I’ve seen photos with you in shoes 🙄)
