| TATLER VIETNAM - NHÃ TẬP TINH HOA VOL.20 MAY ISSUE: THIẾT KẾ VÀ SÁNG TẠO

Với chủ đề Tháng 5 “Thiết Kế và Sáng Tạo”, Tatler Vietnam - Nhã Tập Tinh Hoa tìm đến những cá nhân đang thực hành cho thiết kế đương đại từ vật thể, không gian sống đến quy hoạch đô thị và tương lai của các thành phố.

Tâm điểm, và cũng là gương mặt trang bìa của ấn phẩm là Philippe Starck, nhà thiết kế người Pháp đứng sau những tác phẩm đã trở thành một phần của lịch sử thiết kế đương đại. Trong cuộc trò chuyện độc quyền cùng Tatler, tại Việt Nam, ông chia sẻ về triết lý thiết kế đại đồng, quan niệm về sự ưu tú và vai trò của sáng tạo trong việc nâng cao chất lượng sống của con người.

Hơn hai mươi năm trước, khi còn là sinh viên kiến trúc ở Úc, với tất cả sự tò mò và cuốn hút, tôi từng dành dụm để mua chiếc ghế Louis Ghost của Philippe Starck. Dáng vóc cổ điển của nước Pháp, nhưng lại trong suốt, nhẹ tênh và gần như thuộc về một thế giới khác, nhiều năm về sau, chiếc ghế ấy vẫn ở đâu đó trong không gian sống của tôi, như nhắc rằng thiết kế đẹp có khả năng vương vấn quanh con người rất lâu sau khi những xu hướng đi qua.

Đi xa hơn, tôi và đồng nghiệp của mình đã dành một tháng 5 đi khắp các con phố, trong tuần lễ Milan Design Week, để trò chuyện và ghi lại cách mà thành phố và những thương hiệu hàng đầu thế giới tìm lại giá trị của thủ công, vật liệu và chiều sâu văn hóa.

Thêm đồng điệu với tinh thần ấy, trong chuyên đề Now Generation, Tatler gặp những gương mặt trẻ đang nỗ lực mở rộng khái niệm “design made in Vietnam” bằng trải nghiệm bản địa, ký ức vật liệu và nhịp sống Việt đi vào tư duy thiết kế đương đại. Từ những không gian “biết thở” của Nguyễn Kiều Lam, ánh sáng gợi cảm xúc của OHO Studios, cho đến cách OHQUAO kể lại văn hóa Việt qua các vật phẩm lưu niệm dành cho thế hệ trẻ, tôi nhận ra điểm chung là ngôn ngữ thiết kế đã thoát thai từ chính nhịp đời sống, nếp suy tư của họ.

Độc giả cũng sẽ gặp gỡ Nelson Chow cùng triết lý kiến tạo sự bình tâm trong không gian sống, hay kiến trúc sư và nhà tư vấn chính sách Vương Phan Liên Trang qua những thảo luận về tương lai đô thị. Đặc biệt, số báo còn giới thiệu một thế hệ sáng tạo mới đang góp phần mở rộng khái niệm design tại Việt Nam và châu Á. Họ làm việc với nội thất, kiến trúc, vật liệu, thủ công và công nghệ bằng những ngôn ngữ riêng, nhưng cùng chia sẻ một mối quan tâm về thiết kế không bắt đầu từ vật thể, mà từ cách con người lựa chọn sống.

#𝗙𝗡𝗣 89: Advertising or heritage lights? 🌃
Across Asia, illuminated advertising has become a symbol of progress, yet it is also reshaping the night itself. Neon once reflected local craft and identity, but oversized LED screens now stretch brighter, louder, and long past the hours anyone truly needs them.

The result is not only excess light, but the quiet loss of the cultural night that shaped entire cities.
When brightness spills into homes and heritage signs fade from our streets, we face a simple question: how much light do our nights actually need?

The solutions are already here: responsible brightness levels, dimming after peak hours, and respect for traditional signage as cultural heritage. Cities and business owners have the opportunity to choose balance, so night can again become something we share rather than something we endure.

This episode explores why that choice matters, and how thoughtful action today could allow Asian cities to shine without overwhelming the night.
