You open the message.
You asked how much it costs.
You already regret it.

You brace for the number.
Not because you’re ready to pay—
but because you need to mentally prepare to say no.

Your chest tightens.
You start rehearsing polite ways to back out:
“Thanks, I’ll think about it.”
“Let me check my budget.”
“Maybe next year.”

Because the truth is:
You’re scared of the number.
Scared it’s gonna make you feel small.
Like this is another one of those adult things you should be able to afford… but can’t.
Not without giving something up. Not without guilt.

So you don’t reply.
You let the message sit.
You distract yourself with online shopping.
You add something to cart. Then delete it.
Because now you're thinking: “How can I buy this if I can’t even afford insurance?”

It’s not about the money.
It’s about what the money says about you.
And that feeling stays long after you close the app.

📥 DM me “Budget” and I’ll send you a real answer:
No pressure, no pitch. Just actual numbers based on where you're at.

Because asking how much something costs shouldn’t make you feel like you’re failing at adulthood.

The BORING Truth Of Life Insurance You Don't Care To Know

1. It is NOT a measure of your love towards your family and the people you care about. Hindi porket wala kang insurance hindi mo na mahal pamilya mo.

Kainis yung mga nangungonsensya na mga agents, no? Kahit ako naiirita. Hehe.

But I would still highly recommend getting life insurance. Why? So you can spare yourself from the stress. If you're like me, you don't like being stressed and you don't like giving stress to others, lalo na sa family.

Instead, I want peace and hope. And I know life insurance can give these two things.

2. Kung wala kang ipon o maliit lang ang sahod mo, mainam na kumuha ng LIFE INSURANCE. Bakit?

Dahil ang gamit ng life insurance e gawing mas abot kaya ang pang ospital mo. Paano?

Let's say, you're paying P1,500 per month for your life insurance pero magaling yung ahente mo at inencourage kang lagyan ng riders yung policy mo, meaning may kinabit syang hospital income na P1,000 (halimbawa lang ito, a. Di ko sinasabing ganito nga para sa lahat or para sa'yo) AT nagkabit din sya ng rider na may pambayad ka in case madiagnoze kang may cancer o heart disease or whatever else. I-peg na lang natin sa P250,000 kunyari.

Saan ka pa makakakita where in exchange for your P1,500 you'll get P250,000 in return? Meaning, instead of paying that life changing amount, si life insurance company ang maglalabas ng P250,000 samantalang P1,500 a month lang ang ilalabas mo.

This is what I mean by life insurance makes hospitalization affordable.

And it doesn't just apply to diseases. You can add personal accident also, and many others. This way, you are able to protect yourself from HUGE expenses at a low cost.

Di ba it's easier to come up with P1,500 monthly kesa P250,000 in case of an emergency?

What more if you can afford to set aside more, diba?

3. Life insurance can be customized according to your needs and money goal.

Hindi one size fits all ang life insurance.

It is one of the best inventions out there that is so versatile. Depende sa kung ano ang money goal mo or life stage mo, you can tailor fit o customize your policy.

You're a savvy Gen Z and you dream of retiring young? You can get a policy that can cover you health-wise. Kasi di hamak na mas mura ang premiums o ang payments for health riders habang bata.

Just imagine, you're able to pay for more coverage at a much lower price. Which means, you can set aside more money for savings and investment. Galing, diba?

If you are raising a new family naman, and you have kids in school na, you can get a life insurance policy that focuses on preparing for their tuition.

There are many ways life insurance can benefit you. All you have to do is ask. ;)

4. Life insurance is buying money at a discount.

I don't know if you've heard life insurance agents say this but as cliche as it may be, it is still true.

You are buying money at a discount. Much like my examples above, this is equivalent to you paying a premium in exchange for more money.

Think of it this way. You give the life insurance company P1,500 and in exchange, you can create P1,000,000 for your beneficiary, if not more.

5. Life insurance keeps you and your family from being poor

Life insurance keeps you from going into deep debt in cases of health crises. Life insurance helps your family keep your home. It helps you start over. It helps you dream big.

Are you bored yet?

The things listed above are nothing new nor is it exhaustive. Marami pang ibang advantages ang pagkakaroon ng life insurance.

Lalo na for Filipinos. We can all do ourselves a lot of good when we, and all Filipinos get life insurance. Eventhough it's a western invention, it actually fits our culture of care and stewardship.

Take a closer look at life insurance and see if the information above holds water. You might be pleasantly surprised to find out that maybe, life insurance for Filipinos isn't so boring after all.
