The kitchen requires alot of hard work and focus. It was day 2 of my 3 days volunteer work back at campus and there is something about being in the kitchen that ignites my passion. What I appreciate most, is the time frame which is attached to every dish one needs to prepare. Focus, Focus, Focus!!!

It's been awhile since I've been in an industrial kitchen and immediately, all sorts of emotionally charged memories came to mind, however, one thing about any kitchen setup is that "you need to get the job done, no matter how you might feel"... Though I'm going through a storm in my personal life, my professional life seems to comfort me. I appreciate the experience

Some time last week, I got a small chance to participate in the kitchen of a 3 star establishment. I felt alive again. The is something about being able to work in a industrial kitchen, where things are fast pace and your expected to think on your feet, that sets my soul on fire. Growing up I wanted to pursue a legal profession and the late archbishop Desmond Tutu, wanted to become a doctor. The culinary arts gave me a chance in ways I never imagined were possible.

Been thinking alot about these post and wondering what to say. I realized, logic of the mind can always problem solve, however, wisdom of the heart, will always speak volumes, with only a few words. Somethings in life are 'once in a lifetime' in their nature. Wink wink. Love and Food can be argued, are the most important things in life.

For me, the culinary journey is paved with Nurture in mind. This oxtail stew is meant as an offering to my loved ones. After a long day of securing the bag, a warm, rich and to the point dinner, is what is needed. So next time you think about food, consider how best to show Nurture and affection to the world.

The culinary world seems exciting and full of wonder. It is. The excitement and wonderfulness require passion and devotion. It's hard work and sometimes it can be painful. At the end, it can be all worth it

2020 has been a unique experience for everyone and it is believed that artists use their bad days to create wonderful memories through their works... Every dish is testimony to that and the CUT HOTEL School is a place of wonder and exceptional learning. I will forever be grateful for my academics there

Being an entrepreneur has its good and bad moments. What I have recently realized about myself on this journey, is the surprise I get when people make orders for my hotwings and Hake. I appreciate the support. This journey is delightful and worthwhile. I hope it all works out in the end

4 years ago, if you had asked me "what do I think about cooking?" I would have probably answered "I'm not a great cook, but the best cooks I know, are my mom and dad. My dad's soups warms not only your belly, but your soul too". Fast tract to today and I can boldly say I'm one of the best culinary students in the CUT hotel SCHOOL and just yesterday Chef Obakeng Moholo (executive/operational chef) nicknamed me 'Coco powder' after a container full of coco fell on top of me from the top shelf. Other students would have left and took the rest of the day off. But I remained after dusting myself off and the following 16 hours I worked my butt off to make the best of my last class. My other duties, apart from being headchef, was to bake chocolate brownies and create a cheesecake with caramelized onion jam. The latter dish was very complicated, however I pulled it off and I was super proud of myself. Yesterday's culinary class was my last at the CUT hotel school but it won't be the last in the culinary world. I appreciate every single step on this journey and I am thankful for everyone who has become a part of my life as a result.
