Sure shots from ‘s most recent workshop!

During last week’s session, simulated then chronicled a few examples of participatory arts experiences we orchestrated at local markets across & beyond Boston over the past five years…

…Each one has provided a unique opportunity for people of all ages & backgrounds to hear new music, try a new dance, make new art, and meet somebody new, too…

…helping to make public markets more than just places for shopping & eating but also places for creating & connecting.

🎉 Happy New Year & Hot Off the Press! 📰

A BIG thanks to for the positive press! While the caption below the photo above is our own twist on how we get down 🤪 the following quote from one of the participants is a beautiful reflection of why we do what we do! ❤️

“For 75–year-old Sandra Harris from South Boston, events like First Night are all about bringing people together. Harris is the cofounder of the Coalition to Build Community & End Loneliness and is constantly looking for ways to make people feel included.

She attended an event hosted by A Trike Called Funk, a Boston-based mobile DJ unit, at which street dance performers taught the audience how to move to the beat of the African diaspora in the Americas, swaying to rhythms of hip-hop, salsa, and samba.

‘It’s opportunities like these where we get to meet our neighbors and come together to celebrate that we build community,” Harris said, “and I am optimistic that this is a new beginning for all of us and that we will continue to come together in the new year.’”

Here’s to more@moments like these in & with community unleashing creativity & fostering connectivity. 🙏
