He has worked across four telecommunications operators in three countries, including a Group operation, a leading global telecommunications vendor, a Big Four consulting firm, and as the founder of a FinTech company. The Chairman Nigeria Computer Society Kwara Chapter Engr. Abdulkareem Taofik was privileged to serve as a panellist at the Nigeria Computer Society Conference 2026 in Jos during the plenary session on Digital Innovation for Inclusive Development.

The session featured presentations by E. A. Bassey of the Nigerian Army, who spoke on building inclusive digital ecosystems that deliver measurable socio-economic impact, and Mr Pius Okigbo Jr., FNCS, CEO of InfoSoft Nigeria Limited, who spoke on digital innovation as creative destruction, drawing lessons from Moniepoint.

He joined fellow panellists Professor Saidat Adebukola Onashoga, FNCS, and Dr Olukemi Sade Ayodele, FNCS, President of Nigerian Women in Information Technology. The session was chaired by Major General Garba Abdullahi (Rtd.), MNCS.

A major point from the discussion was that digital inclusion must go beyond connectivity. It must also address affordability, digital literacy, accessibility and the ability of people in underserved communities to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

They discussed how innovation should help us replace inefficient processes, improve productivity, and widen economic opportunities.

Nigeria’s digital transformation will only be meaningful when innovation is matched with inclusion.
