A personal and supportive message focused on breaking the stigma and encouraging open conversation.

🧡 A Friendly Reminder from Barnaby the Owl:

Sometimes, even simple tasks like taking the bus can feel overwhelming. A panic attack can strike anyone, anywhere—and it doesn’t look the same for everyone.

If you or someone you love experiences this, please know that you are not alone, and it’s okay to reach out for support.

For any day that you need a strategy.
Slow down for a second and take a deep breath. 🧘‍♂️🦉
Anxiety and panic attacks can hit out of nowhere, making you feel like you're losing control. If your heart starts racing or you feel overwhelmed, remember: you are safe, and this will pass.
Here is a quick breakdown of what's happening and how to ground yourself using our friendly owl's guide:

🔍 The Signs
Racing heart or chest tightness
Shortness of breath or dizziness
Sudden shaking, sweating, or intense dread

🛠️ The Toolkit
1. Deep Breathing: Inhale for 4s, hold for 4s, exhale for 6s to calm your nervous system.
2. 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding: Acknowledge 5 things you see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, and 1 you taste.
3. Muscle Relaxation: Tense a muscle group for 5s, then release for 10s to let go of physical tension.
4. Affirmations: Remind yourself: "I am safe. This is temporary."
Mental health matters every single day. Let's keep the conversation open. 💚

🔄 Stuck in the burnout loop?
When we are exhausted, it’s easy to get trapped in a cycle of overworking, worrying, and skipping the things that actually recharge us.
True recovery isn't just about waiting for the workload to drop—it's about actively breaking the loop.
Small steps make a massive difference:
1️⃣ Challenge the pressure to be perfect.
2️⃣ Intentionally schedule small moments of joy.
3️⃣ Protect your time with firm boundaries.
4️⃣ Give yourself permission to truly rest.
You can't pour from an empty cup. What is one small boundary you can set for your wellbeing today? 🌿👇

Hi, a couple of weeks ago I attended a health and wellbeing event where I met lots of amazing professionals, the majority of whom were mothers as well as successful business owners.
One business was based on empowering women; mothers that needed more from life than just having a successful career. They were supporting mothers to be strong- confident- beautiful: Goddesses.
Possibly some of you have known about the concept, or learned about it recently (as I did 😊), but I never thought to use it more than briefly in a session.
These two amazing people have built a business based on the concept and have helped women of different ages to process trauma using the Goddess concept.
What I learned from this experience is that I need to apply the concept more often in my integrated health and wellbeing approach as every woman-mother needs to feel as a Goddess.

Managing Anxiety in the Heat:
A Guide to Wellbeing 🌿
When the temperature spikes, it’s not just our bodies that feel it—our nervous systems do too! Physical heat can trigger a racing heart and shallow breathing, easily mimicking or worsening anxiety.

Take inspiration from our forest friends to keep your mind and body calm today:

🐻 1. Stay Hydrated – Sip water regularly to help your body regulate stress.
🦊 2. Find Shade & Cool Spaces – Escape the direct sun to reset your nervous system.
🦌 3. Breathe Gently – Practice deep, slow breaths to signal safety to your mind.
🦝 4. Wear Light Clothes – Choose loose, breathable cotton to stay comfortable.
🦉 5. Take Breaks – Lower your pace and rest often; heat drains our energy.
🦡 6. Reach Out for Support – Chat with a loved one or peer to share the load.

Be kind to yourself today. Slow down, stay cool, and take it one gentle step at a time. 💚

Breaking the Low Mood Cycle: The Power of Pleasant Activities

When you are feeling down or exhausted, the absolute hardest thing to do is anything. Low energy usually leads to an empty schedule, which unfortunately keeps us trapped in that heavy, low mood.
But there is a way to break the loop!
Intentionally adding small, meaningful activities back into your week has a massive impact on your mental health. Here is why it works:
🎨 It changes your brain chemistry: Engaging in hobbies like painting, reading, or exploring triggers positive emotions and naturally lifts your mood.
🌱 It builds resilience: Completing small tasks—like planting a garden bed or learning a new skill—gives you a genuine sense of accomplishment and rebuilds broken self-esteem.
⏳ It interrupts the spiral: Even if you don't feel fully motivated at first, taking action before you feel like it is the fastest way to get your energy back.
You don't have to fill your calendar overnight. Just pick one small thing that used to bring you joy, or one tiny task that makes you feel proud, and schedule it in this week.
Progress happens step-by-step!

Catching the Heavy Thoughts:
A Simple Tip for Tough Days

When a low mood sets in, our brains love to shout absolute, harsh statements like, "I will never succeed."
It feels completely real in the moment, but remember: thoughts are not always facts. Here is a quick, 3-step trick to clear the mental fog right from home:
🛑 1. Catch It
Pay attention to when your mind spirals into "always," "never," or "not good enough" language. Don't just let the thought slide by—pause and label it.
🔍 2. Challenge It
Play detective. Ask yourself: Is this thought 100% true? What is the real-world evidence? Usually, it’s just the low mood talking, not reality.
🔄 3. Change It
You don’t need toxic positivity. Just look for a realistic, kinder perspective. Swap "I can't do anything right" for: "I am learning, and I am building a good process step by step."

💡 Be gentle with yourself today. Mental wellness is built on small, daily habits. You don't have to fix everything at once—just catching one harsh thought is a massive win!
