Feels good to see a client succeed! Mosaic Solutions and Advocacy was on site to tour Amity Foundation's new affordable housing project in Los Angeles. There will be 116 apartments with 50% set aside for the justice involved, and Amity will be supplying case managers and behavioral health services. Mosaic is proud that it's own Darby Kernan successfully lobbied for $7 million in California tax credits to make the project feasible for our client. Arizona State Rep. Analise Ortiz was also on hand with an interest in creating the same type of community reentry programs that Amity runs here, in Arizona.

Working together to end domestic violence

To break the cycle of domestic violence, we need to talk about it.

The current responses for intervening in domestic violence focus on punitive measures and crisis intervention. Oftentimes, these responses don’t match up with the support survivors and their families feel they need to heal. Experts are seeing the need for options that operate outside the criminal justice or civil legal systems that promote healing, safety, and accountability for families impacted by domestic violence.

For our second episode of Let’s End Domestic Violence: Heal, Restore, Prevent, we spoke with and of about restorative, community-driven, non-carceral prevention opportunities for survivors.
