After I received my first message about an irregular finding on my mammogram, I was scheduled for a breast ultrasound. I went to the appointment feeling very optimistic that they would tell me it was just a cyst.

Halfway through the ultrasound the tech stopped and had the doctor come into the exam. My optimism quickly started to disappear. The Dr. told me that they were concerned and needed to schedule a Stereotactic Breast Biopsy.

I continue to share my story in the hopes that it moves others to take the step to get checked. Without early detection I would not be here today to share my story. Please encourage your loved ones to schedule a mammogram today!

Norms are like the "rules of the road" for teams! 🚗 They are the behaviors and expectations everyone on the team agrees to follow. Leaders play a HUGE role in helping the team set these norms. A great leader guides the team in building the right rules, making sure everyone’s voice is heard, and then helps them stick to those norms.

When a team has strong norms, they know how to communicate, solve problems, and work together smoothly. But without them, it’s like driving without street signs—confusing and messy! Teams with clear norms perform better and reach their goals faster because they know exactly how to work as one. Without a leader setting these norms, teams often stay stuck and never reach that high-performing level.

October 1st kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness month 🩷. As a breast cancer survivor, this is a month that brings about a lot of emotion. I want to use my platform to educate and encourage everyone to learn more about ways to protect yourself. I hope that by sharing my story it will empower you. I worked with a leader this week on time management skills. In particular, how to use the Time Management Matrix to get them organized.

We spent 10 minutes reviewing 13 tasks they had sitting on their desk to complete. 10/13 items were things that could be delegated to one of their office staff. That is 77% percent of the work. 🚀 By using the Time Management Matrix they were able to gain a net difference of 45 minutes to one hour back into their day to focus on proactive, team building work.
