The 5 BIRDS CubeSats were successfully deployed to space from the robotic arm of the JAXA’s Kibo experimental module of the ISS on July 7th. We thank everybody who realised the satellite deployment.

Beacon data received from the 5 satellites confirmed that all 5 satellites are alive.
We are investigating the satellites' health condition further before moving to the next phase of the operations.
We appreciate all well-wishers and the Amateur Radio community for the unflinching supports during the initial signal acquisition.

All is set for the deployment of the BIRDS projects' 5 CubeSats belonging to Japan, Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria and Bangladesh from JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Kibo Robot Arm of the International Space Station.

As the ISS release for BIRDS CubeSats is underway with July 7th, 2017 as the first candidate. We commenced operational planning among the 7 ground stations (GS) in Japan, Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Thailand and Taiwan with an online meeting today. Infostellar Inc. in Japan also joined the meeting as they shall provide all technical support to enhance efficient network operations. The meeting was a BIG SUCCESS! The five CubeSats of the BIRDS Satellite project are scheduled to be launch to the International Space Station on June 2nd, @6.50am JST from Florida, USA onboard SpaceX Falcon 9 CRS-11

Development phase is over and we are full of excitement integrating and testing the flight hardware of the BIRDS CubeSats.

BIRDS Project Flight Model development is on the way. We shall be integrating and testing 5 Units of 1U CubeSats in the next 1 month. All the best to the 5 teams.
