“Encounter with demons” - Illustration and Fashion Collaboration | Kuo Cheng X Bifoli2
Bridging fashion and art, illustrator Kuo Cheng articulates a unique belief by portraying the demons characters in various innovative ways as print design. “There’s a fundamental disparity between demons and aliens. Aliens are assumed to be built on the logic of evolution and technology; on the contrary, demons are considered as supernatural entities, projecting different qualities in appearance and essence.” Kuo employs his own method called “secondary transformation method”, features demons as primary subjects, deconstructs intuitive associations, selects dragon related elements, then proceeds with second brainstorming to endow characters unique identities. His method delivers esoteric meanings and becomes the core value of his demon series.
In this collaboration, it riffs off a beguiling narrative, parallels the elegant silhouettes with the whimsical demon print designs, channeling a compelling ambivalence. The pleated organza accentuates the collar, and the sheer texture of the garments illuminates the links between demon motifs and the creators.
Illustrator ｜Kuo Cheng
Kuo Cheng received his bachelor degree in multimedia design and game design at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, previously worked as an animator at Next Digital Ltd in Taiwan. While working at Next Digital Ltd, he participated in the production of "Unforgettable - A Walk with Alzheimer's" animated short film, and won second place in the company's internal competition. In June 2022, he held a solo exhibition "Encountering Demons at the Corner" at the Pessimist Society Café.
“ 惡魔在身邊” - 插畫與時尚跨領域合作 ｜ 郭成斌 X Bifoli2
在這次時尚與藝術的結合中，插畫家郭成斌藉由對惡魔角色的多面向刻畫和印花配置上的創新與琢磨，在視覺上傳達了獨特的信念。『惡魔的創作和一般外星生物有根本性的區別。外星生物建基於科技或演化的邏輯，而惡魔則是超自然存在，其外觀和本質上展現出截然不同的思維。』郭成斌的創作多藉由二次轉化的方式，以惡魔為主題，拆解直覺聯想的特性，然後篩選出與龍有連結感的元素，進行二次發想，賦予每個角色獨特的個性及習慣。這種方式讓角色呈現更深層的含義，成為惡魔系列的核心。
這次的時裝有著強烈的故事性，以柔美的剪裁對比著惡魔印花的情緒張力，呈現有趣的衝突感。色彩強亮的珍珠紗壓褶花邊點綴修飾著領子，半透明紗感與印花小面積借位重疊，隱隱透出朦朧美感，呈現滑稽的莊嚴感。
藝術家｜郭成斌
畢業於龍華科技大學多媒體與遊戲發展科學系，曾在壹傳媒任職動畫師，參與製作 "Unforgettable - A Walk with Alzheimer's" 動畫短片，贏得公司內部比賽第二名。2022年6月於厭世會社咖啡廳舉辦個展“在轉角遇到惡魔”。
