CSUB Office of Special Programs & Student Retention Initiatives It accomplishes this through intentional student support services to prospective and current CSUB students.

The Office of Special Programs & Student Retention Initiatives provides programs and services that support the recruitment, retention, and graduation of URM and Pell-eligible students at CSUB. Our programs include the Excel Scholars First-Year Mentoring Program and Club, the SANKOFA Scholars, National Panhellenic Fraternities and Sororities (Divine 9) collaborations, and the Conference for Budding and Blooming Leaders.

As we close out the year, we want to wish you a joyful and restful holiday season. Enjoy your time away from the classroom and take care of yourselves.

Please note the following important dates:
• Campus will be closed from Wednesday, December 24 through Thursday, January 1.
• The EOP Office and the Student Success Center will reopen on Monday, January 5 at 9:00 a.m.

It honors the histories, cultures and perspectives of Indigenous peoples and ancestors who lived on land now known as North America.

“We acknowledge with gratitude that the meeting place of California State University, Bakersfield is the traditional territory of the Kitanemuk (Ki-ta-ne-muk) people of the Tejon Tribe, a place their nation has called home, since time immemorial.”
