We have all been conditioned a certain way as children based on the community we grew up in, our parents and teachers. This conditioning sometimes holds us back from being our authentic selves. Here are some ways to help you break out of these childhood patterns and be authentic:

1) Become aware of certain patterns that keep coming up, for example, you catch yourself acting a certain way. Be open to doing things differently.

2) Spend time alone reflecting and introspecting. Journaling is a great way to introspect and become aware of things that are bothering us or noticing patterns that keep repeating in our lives.

3) Make time for yourself and do things that you enjoy. For example, going out to watch a movie, travelling alone, going out in nature, or dancing.

4) Stop comparing yourself to others. Nobody has it figured out and nobody’s perfect. So don’t feel like you are the only one who is stuck in certain patterns.

Do you want to start meditating, but don’t know where to begin? I have been getting a lot of questions lately about how to start meditating, so I felt to compile this guide. Start small each day with just focusing on your breath for 5-10minutes a day and work up from there. The importance is consistency and practice everyday. With the holiday break coming up and a lot of us not being able to see our loved ones. We are going to be spending a lot more time at home. We will definitely be using some of that time to tackle some home projects and organize ourselves for the New Year. So we thought it was fitting to have a Professional Organizer give us some tips and tricks for organizing our home space. Also, we have noticed an organized space has a positive impact on your mental health.

As the days are getting shorter and colder, and we enter another lockdown with the rise of Covid cases, it’s ok to have days where you feel unmotivated to work or unpleasant feelings like anger, frustration, anxiousness, and overwhelmingness. Don’t judge yourself for not being ok. We are in a global pandemic, nothing is normal about this. Navigating our new normal while ensuring those around us are safe is stressful. A lot of us had to embrace a lot of changes in the last couple of months and going into another lockdown is the last thing we wanted. So be patient and be kind to yourself and those around you. 💙✨

This is a reminder... it’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to have a difficult day. It’s ok if you want to take a day to not do anything. In our society, people are often seen as lazy if they sleep too much, or watch too much tv, or don’t work hard. What our society doesn’t teach us is it’s ok to take time to heal and process our feelings, it’s ok to take time for self care to fill our cup because we are running on empty. It’s ok to not be ok. So don’t feel guilty the next time you want to take time to rest. Don’t feel guilty if you want to sleep. Give your body what it is asking for. Nothing is permanent, by allowing yourself to not be ok and rest, you will eventually feel better.
