Due to some administrative issues, we are going to have to postpone the 2nd Annual Athletes for Athletes One Mile Ocean Swim Race which was set for November 16. We are working to reschedule for sometime in March-April and will post the new date as soon as we have it. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any athlete.

Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Athletes for Athletes One Mile Ocean Swim Race - November 16, 2013 at Carlin Park in Jupiter. Details coming soon! This race will benefit Veterans Adaptive Sports, a local veteran's charity that helps injured vets get back into sports, outdoor activities, and competition.

Congratulations to all of the competitors yesterday in the inaugural Athletes for Athletes One Mile Ocean Swim. Unfortunately, due to the high seas and strong currents, we had to change the course to 1/2 mile. The winner was a 15 year old young lady, who not only was the youngest competitor, but LOST HER GOGGLES towards the end and in the true spirit of an athlete, pressed on to finish in 8:51! Thank you to everyone for coming, despite the rainy and stormy start to the morning, and a special thank you to the athletes who came all the way from Davie. You all made this a memorable and special event for Veteran's Adaptive Sports, and we plan to do it again next year.

Veterans Adaptive Sports trains injured vets to participate in sports, outdoor activities, and competitons. All of the proceeds received by Veterans Adaptive Sports go to the vets and stays local to the South Florida area.
