Here is an example of a couple of antique secretaries where I replaced the old felt with new leather. The customer gets to choose the color of the leather and the design/thickness of the decorative gold trim.

Refinishing just the top surface of items is one of my favorite things to do. Unless an item is very old, the top is generally what gets the wear and tear. It's very satisfying to see the transformation and to give my customer their piece back looking brand new!

This was an antique butlers desk with some serious dog chew damage along the bottom of the front and left side. The dog chewed through the very thick veneer in several places. We replaced that with matching veneer, shaped/sanded it to be cohesive and then stained/finished it to match.

We can fabricate new parts for your furniture. The first picture is a dining room chair that had a broken and missing spindle. We were able to turn a new spindle, color to match and install it. The second picture is a large dresser that had the foot and some trim broken off in a move and the foot was also missing. We made a new foot and trim, colored to match and installed.

This was a really interesting piece to work on. This is an Imperial Automatic Reclining Chair or sometimes known as a Morris Chair. It is the first version of a recliner and the tag on the bottom of the chair shows that it is from 1901. The chair was in really good shape and the upholstery had been redone previously, but the whole thing was very loose. So we reglued the entire piece, got the back working again and replaced some broken casters with some nice rolling wood ones. It has a footrest that pulls out from below the seat and the back reclines with a little pressure. I don't often want to keep items I work on, but I wouldn't mind having one of these chairs!
