Check out one of the projects we completed in Fernie a week and a half ago!

This home took us just under 5 days to complete including full Osborn brushing, a borate treatment, and two coats of oil based stain. The wood grain is absolutely popping on this house and really brought the logs back to life.

We’re extremely happy with how this transformation turned out. What do you think of the before and after? 👀🔥

First blasting and staining job of 2026 is in the books! 🔥

These posts and railings had years of old stain built up, so we started with a full media blast to strip everything back. From there, we used an Osborn brush to smooth things out and bring the wood back to a clean, solid surface before applying two coats of stain.

Now the wood grain is popping again and the whole look is refreshed and protected. Love seeing transformations like this. 👌

Another big project wrapped up 💪

We just finished repairing over 150 feet of rot, with some of these logs measuring over 15 inches in diameter! We were able to remove all the damaged wood and replace it with solid, sound material to bring this home back to life.

The homeowner has chosen to have the entire wall caulked with Sashco Log Homes Conceal, which will give it a clean, seamless look once we restore the entire home.

Stay tuned this transformation is going to be a good one once our 10th winter wraps up ❄️🔥

Join our team working on log homes across Western Canada. This is hands on, physical work involving sanding, media blasting, staining, and repairs. No experience needed, just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Travel is part of the job and a living allowance is provided while working away.

Another rotten log repaired ✅

This 19 ft log had some serious rot and getting a piece that size up there was definitely a challenge. With a little determination, we made it happen 💪

The new log is properly sealed and ready to handle the weather. We finished it off with a coat of Sashco, Inc. Colorfast and put together some stain samples, as we’ll be back this spring to give the whole home a fresh new look.

Out with the old, in with the solid 💪

These posts were starting to rot out, so we replaced them with larger, stronger ones to give the whole structure a better, more solid look and feel.

We also rebuilt the staircase railing and repositioned it to sit centered on the posts. On the log wall side, we finished things off by reinstalling the window trim from last week’s work and tying everything in clean.

All buttoned up and looking real sharp 👌
We’ll be back this summer to restore the entire home!
