My name is David Kcenich and I am a Cartoonist / Animator with over 25 years of Industry experience. I am the creator of BRUCE. My life long dream was to be a syndicated Cartoonist. I am a graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York. While there I received the prestigious Robert Eric Farmer award for best cartoonist of the class of 1989. I studied under legendary comic book and cartoon ar
tists Will Eisner (The Spirit) Harvey Kurtzman (Mad Magazine founder and creator of Playboy's Little Annie Fannie), Gene Colan (Captain America, Dare Devil, Batman artist for Marvel, DC Comics & Darkhorse), Joe Orlando (DC comics editor), Charles Burns (author/artist of the graphic novel Black Hole) and artist Philip Burke (Rolling Stones Magazine). As an Animator, I have worked at Walt Disney Studios for 10 years, Bento Box, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., Hanna-Barberra and several other commercial houses through the years. I animated on a Coca-Cola commercial and on a video opening for Dollywood. I did Character and Effects animation, as well as, Prop Design for both Feature and Television projects. I am proficient in Photoshop and I use a Cintiq. I have used Toon Boom and Harmony at both Disney (Princess and the Frog) and Bento Box (Bob's Burgers). I have a working knowledge of Storyboard PRO. I worked as a traditional Effects Key Animator at Duck Studios on a Smurfs short (The Smurfs:The Legend of Smurfy Hollow) and at Peer Productions as the lead Character Designer / Prop Designer / Background Designer for a project that was used as the pitch package for a television series for Lee Supercinski. I have been working on or with BRUCE for a few decades and I have been very protected of him. I am finally ready to let him out and meet the world. Hopefully this page along with the Instagram spot (dmkartoonz) will generate an audience that will launch him on his way. I hope you enjoy the strip and thanks for visiting.
