We foster innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting technology-based startups and empowering students and faculty to optimize systems in business and logistics ecosystems. PUP PYLON TBI is a DOST-PCIEERD supported technology business incubator in NCR that aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among its students by providing a supportive ecosystem for the development and growth of technology-based startups. Its key objective is to help early-stage & homegrown startups and student & faculty technopreneurs who want to design and manage systems that will improve and maximize the flow of materials, products, services, and information along the value chain business and logistics ecosystem.

ICO joined Startup QC's Pitch & Choose: Your TBI!, where founders met the incubators ready to help them grow. 🙌

Leading our seat at the table was our Chief John Dee Gonos, who joined the fireside chat on Building Digital Solutions in the AI Age. He shared how Technology Business Incubators like ours turn promising ideas into real ventures through mentorship, training, networks, and hands-on incubation support.

🤖 TECH NEXTGEN: IDEASPRINT — WHERE BIG IDEAS MEET SMART TECH! 🚀💡
From "What if?" to "Let's build it!", Tech NextGen: IdeaSprint brought together aspiring innovators for a hands-on day of learning, creating, and turning ideas into smart solutions through Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Here's a look at how the day unfolded:

🛠️ Hands-on IoT Development Workshop
Participants from different colleges explored the basics of IoT; how connected devices, sensors, and platforms work together to create smart solutions. From there, they got hands-on with the hardware itself, working with sensors to bring their concepts to life and experience firsthand what it takes to build a smart prototype.

🏆 Mini Innovation Challenge & Prototype Presentation
Teams took their ideas further, combining creativity, technology, and teamwork to develop practical, real-world solutions. Then came the real test: presenting their prototypes, demonstrating how they work, and showcasing how IoT can solve everyday problems.

From learning to building to pitching, participants turned ideas into action, all in one exciting IdeaSprint!

A big thank you to everyone who learned, built, collaborated, and pitched with us. Your energy and enthusiasm made TechNextGen IdeaSprint a day to remember

🚀 A NEW MILESTONE FOR PUP INNOVATION AND COMMERCIALIZATION OFFICE!

A significant achievement for Sintang Paaralan!

The Innovation and Commercialization Office (ICO) has secured the approval of the IMPACT-NXT Project from the Governing Council of the DOST–Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) on September 17, 2026, with a ₱7-million proposal supporting the establishment and strengthening of PUP's Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO).

Led by Engr. Florence Joie Lacsa, Chief of the Intellectual Property Management Section of ICO, as Project Leader, the initiative will strengthen PUP’s capacity to bring promising research and technologies closer to the market through intellectual property protection, technology transfer, licensing, industry partnerships, and startup development.

Our appreciation goes to DOST-PCIEERD for its continued support of initiatives that build stronger technology transfer and commercialization capabilities in Philippine universities.

⏳ 3... 2... 1... Okay, we're at 2 DAYS LEFT! ⚡

Zoom in on that hand—it's holding the starter trio of basic electronics: LED, a resistor, and a diode. Three tiny parts, one big lesson:

LED: Lights up when current flows through it the right way. Basically the "hello world" of electronics, if you can make one blink, you can build almost anything.
Resistor: The traffic cop of your circuit, controlling how much current flows so your components don't get fried. Those colorful stripes? They literally spell out its resistance value in code!
Diode: Lets current flow in only ONE direction, like a one-way street for electricity. No wrong turns allowed!

Put them together and you've got the starter pack for basically every IoT gadget out there, from blinking alarms to smart sensors. 🤖

Speaking of 4, meet the HC-SR04, that four-eyed-looking module up top is actually an ultrasonic distance sensor, and it only needs 4 pins to work: VCC, Trig, Echo, and GND. Send a pulse out, listen for the echo, and your Arduino can measure distance down to the centimeter, the same trick bats use to "see" in the dark! 🦇📏

It's one of the most fun (and useful) sensors to play with in IoT—from obstacle-avoiding robots to smart parking systems.
