Michigan Funders Platform connecting Michigan Small Business seeking Capital with Michigan Investors. A secure, and exciting new way to invest into Michigan.

Launching in Q1 2015, MichiganFunders seeks to be The Mitten's first homegrown equity crowdfunding portal that welcomes non-accredited investors. But what does that mean? It means that we believe everyone has an inherent right to save their money and to invest or spend it as they see fit. Progressive legislation from our state's capital has opened the doors to the 99% in terms of small business in

vestments, and we think it is a watershed moment for both those small businesses (starting up, or growing), and for the investors who until this point have not been allowed access into the "angel's circle." Crowdfunding is not new. Investing in people and products you believe in is not new. We just see a new way to approach this, and are excited to make it easy for Michigan.

We're excited to see Detroit City FC passing it's $400,000 raise minimum on it's way to a history use of Michigan Crowdfunding laws to fund it's Keyworth fundraising campaign. It's an honor to be a part of this history effort. It's awesome to watch our state get behind a project it loves.

We would be sad that the campaign is nearing it's end, if the flurry of investments pouring in weren't almost overwhelming, and if it didn't also remind us that DCFC is about to be able to break ground!

Listen. We're not lawyers, or brokers, and we can't tell you to invest, or even to suggest that this is a good (or bad) investment to make. But we can say that we're thrilled to see Michiganders investing locally. We can't wait to see you guys at a game. And as a matter of fact (and not suggestion), if you've been waiting to invest -- now is the time. Head over to MichiganFunders.com to check out the deal.

Note from Niles Heron:

One of the first panel discussions that David Tessler and I did as Michigan Funders was at the Remax offices in Royal Oak with Ron MarsHall. We talked about small businesses, crowdfunding, and community investing. He had seen the work and mission we were embarking on and believed. He supported us when we had no track record. I don't even think we had an article published on us yet.

It is with deep sadness that I bid farewell to Ron. He was a good man, from our brief interactions, and will be missed.

On behalf of the entire Michigan Funders team, Safe travels, friend. Our condolences are with the family.

While the rest of the crowdfunding world is celebrating the Title III legislation (we're excited, too, for the record), we're still here at home -- working to help local businesses raise capital. We've been quiet for a while, but it hasn't been because we went anywhere.

Michigan Funders is honored to host the Detroit City FC Keyworth Expansion campaign on our website. We can't disclose any deal terms, but you can go to MichiganFunders.com to view the offering (once you've registered).

[Note: We have noticed an unusually high number of incoming users are getting caught in our IP Screening process -- We're working on finding a better way to limit the deal pages on our site to Michigan residents only -- it's a state mandate -- but in the meantime if you email us at [email protected] we'll work with you promptly to manually verify your MI residency]

Show support for one of Detroit's own: "Greatness The One" is a brand dedicated to inspiring young people to believe and reach for new heights, through fashion and design, and engagement. They are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to buy a screen printing machine and materials, so as to lower their cost per shirt, allowing them to give more of them away to the youth they hope to serve.

Good product, good team. And they are over half-way to their goal.

By the youth, for the youth, worth supporting. Learn more at the link below.

We are looking to generate funds to create our own in-house production system for our future products.
