“Near Me” Searches Can Bring Leads. But the Structure Matters
A lot of local businesses see a search like:
“boiler installation near me”
and think, “That’s exactly the customer I want.”
Maybe.
But the search itself is only the beginning.
If you are running Google Ads for a boiler or heating business, I would look at what happens after that search.
Is the ad actually relevant to what the person is looking for?
Does the landing page clearly explain the service and the areas you cover?
Can the person quickly see why they should contact you?
And most importantly, are you tracking what happens after the click?
A campaign can get clicks without bringing the kind of enquiries a business actually wants.
That is why I look beyond CPC and click volume.
I want to understand search intent, location, ad relevance, landing-page experience and conversion data together.
For a local service business, the goal is not simply to be visible.
It is to make the journey from search → click → enquiry → booked job as clear as possible.
If you run a boiler, heating or other local service business and you are currently using Google Ads, feel free to message me.
I’m always happy to look at a campaign and share what I would check first.
Sometimes a few small changes in the right place can tell you a lot about where your budget is going.
