When the 9-to-5 Is All You Know
Nobody in my family had ever earned money outside of a 9-to-5.
That idea — that you clock in, you work, you get paid, you clock out, and that's the deal — was so deeply ingrained in me that I never questioned it.
It was simply how life worked.
Until one day, my salary wasn't enough to cover the life I was trying to live.
And that changed the question.
Instead of asking, “How do I stretch my salary further?” I started asking:
“What if there is another way?”
Not a get-rich-quick scheme.
Not something that requires me to quit my job.
Not something involving warehouses full of stock, cold-calling everyone I know, or constantly convincing people to buy something.
I started looking at the possibility of building another income stream alongside what I was already doing.
Something I could learn gradually.
Something I could build consistently.
Something that could become an asset rather than simply trading more hours for more money.
And perhaps the biggest change wasn't financial at first.
It was mental.
I realised that just because something is the way my family had always done it, didn't mean it was the only way it could ever be done.
Sometimes, the first step towards changing your financial situation isn't earning more.
It's becoming willing to question what you've always believed about earning.
If you've started wondering whether relying on one income is really enough for the future you want, you're not alone.
And you don't have to figure it all out by yourself.
If you're curious about what I've been doing and would like some help understanding whether it could fit into your life, DM me.
No pressure. Just a conversation. 💙
