Introducing the founder of Jade Samurai Sparkling Matcha, Jessica Bonin.

Jessica is an award-winning tea entrepreneur, a tea sommelier and a formal student of Chanoyu, the Japanese Matcha ceremony.

🚚 In 2010, she launched South Africa’ first food truck selling tea.
🍵 In 2013, she introduced the first matcha brand to South Africa.
🧋In 2016, she opened the South Africa’s first Tea Bar.
🫧🍵 And in 2026, she launches South Africa’s first Sparkling Matcha, Jade Samurai.

Join me this Friday 4th September at SIROCCO for a Japanese Tea tasting of 4 select The Alchemy of Tea speciality delights sourced from small-scale family run farms in Japan. Explore the genealogy, culture and sensory delight of these unique and exquisite teas. The evening will be held in the gorgeous and famous train.

Something a little different for this Friday’s tasting 🍵

This week, we’re swapping the w**e glasses for tea bowls and welcoming Jessica Bonin of and to Sirocco for Wabi Cha, a Japanese Tea Tasting.

Jessica, a tea sommelier and specialist in Japanese tea, will traditionally prepare four Japanese teas sourced from small, family-run farms, guiding us through their history, culture, craft and flavour.

An evening to slow down, taste with a little more attention, and experience the ritual and beauty behind Japanese tea 🍃
