VACANCY FOR AN EXPERIENCED SHOP MANAGER- 4 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT (Maternity leave cover)
CAPE TOWN, V&A WATERFRONT

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
 Manage the sourcing and procurement of stock for the Watershed Shop and other orders
 Manage the human resourcing at all CDI-linked shop/s
 Ensure the reconciliation of sales on a monthly or by order basis
 Carry out the merchandising of stock at the shop/s
 Oversee e-commerce order fulfilment at the CDI’s Watershed stores
 Reporting

TASKS

Sourcing & Procurement of Stock
 Facilitate the process of order fulfilment by continuous communication and liaison with suppliers as well as ensuring that progress is made in terms of production to meet the relevant lead times and quality standards
 Ensure that the process flow in terms of the invoicing, deposits, etc is followed correctly in order to streamline the order process
 Carry out the dispatching of all orders to clients
 Present possible product options for CDI Connect clients by means of:
o Searching for the products requested using PEEK
o Identifying appropriate craft producer/s to produce the order
o Staying up to date with developments in terms of new products available in the market place
 Ensure that the control systems as set out in the process flow document for CDI Connect is adhered to and communicate any red flags during the process of order fulfilment to the CDI Connect Manager timeously
 Do quality checks on delivered products before it is dispatched to clients

Resourcing of the Shop/s
 Annually or bi annually run an email campaign to recruit new store participant, adjudicate and work with the V&A to select
 Manage the sales assistants based at the Watershed Shop and the Design Lab
 Prepare the shift schedules outlining the working hours of all sales assistants
 Ensure the timeous submission of the sales assistants’ time sheets to the Finance department for processing of salaries
 Ensure that all the necessary equipment required is available for the sales assistants’ use in the shop
 Together with the sales assistants, carry out a monthly stock take in the shops
 Act as the liaison between the CDI and producers around the placement of products in the shop
 Ensure new products are loaded onto the Yoco system and e-commerce platform – this includes photography | price comparisons | correct details included via producer | product info gathering
 All sales (online and instore) managed through Yoco system
Reconciliation of Sales
 Ensure that monthly sales online and bricks and mortar are reconciled
 Reconciled figures are shared with producers and invoices requested
 Process invoices and submitted to CDI’s Finance department
 Follow up where necessary to get invoices | to ensure payments processed
Merchandising of Stock
 Enhance the Watershed Shop’s service offering by:
o Researching and identifying new possible suppliers for the shop and various catalogues
o Ensure that the shop’s product offering stays relevant based on market trends and demands
o Refresh the store(s) product layout regularly to ensure the stores are visually appealing
Reporting
 Collate all relevant reports i.e. sales reports, trend reports, performance reports and other relevant information
 Complete the V&A turnover sheet by 2nd of each month and submit to the relevant V&A contacts
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports directly, to the Manager: CDI Connect
• Consults with the Manager: CDI Connect on any issues relevant to activities within the programme
DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITY
 Responsible for implementing day-to-day fulfilment of functions as per the job description

Technical Knowledge: Production or manufacturing knowledge, project management skills, business support and mentoring skills. Experience as owner/ manager of small business. Knowledge of the hand craft sector. Working knowledge of computer programmes

Client Focus: Very Culturally sensitive individual with strong interpersonal skills willing to actively address diverse stakeholder needs

Initiating Action: Experienced, self-starter with ability and willingness to be pro-active. Entrepreneurially minded

SOCIAL CHANGE ASSISTANCE TRUST (S**T) - Cape Town based

M&E and Data Administration Internship vacancy for 2026/27
The Social Change Assistance Trust (S**T) invites applications for a one-year internship commencing 1 June 2026 to 1 June 2027.
This position sits primarily within the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Data space, while also providing support across programme implementation, administration, and organisational processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. S**T Online Reporting System (SOAR)
• Review submitted reports for missing information, inconsistencies, and errors
• Follow up with CBOs on reporting deadlines and outstanding submissions
• Support user management (e.g. access permissions, password resets, profile setup).

2. Data Administration & M&E Support
• Support the collection, cleaning, and processing of programme data
• Ensure adherence to data management protocols (naming conventions, filing systems)
• Assist in developing and refining data collection tools (e.g. surveys, interview guides)
• Support documentation of processes and standard operating procedures
• Bi-weekly checks on the share drive
• Organising the share drive, should documents be misplaced.

3. Workshops & Learning
• Provide technical and background support for online workshops
• Assist with workshop logistics and coordination
• Capture and document key learnings from workshops and CBO engagements.

4. Programme Support
• Support planning, implementation, and coordination of programme activities
• Assist with organising meetings, workshops, and events on the organisational calendar.
• Provide administrative support to the programme teams
• Participate in field visits and provide support to field staff where required
• Provide ad hoc support to broader organisational activities.

Requirements
• A recent graduate (within the past 2 years) or currently completing a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field such as:
o Development Studies
o Sociology / Social Sciences
o Political Science
o Psychology
o Monitoring & Evaluation or related fields
• No previous formal work experience required
• Foundational understanding of:
o Data collection, management, and basic analysis
o Social justice and community development
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proactive mind set with a willingness to learn and improve systems
• Willingness to travel and engage in fieldwork
• Ability to work remotely and from S**T’s Cape Town office
• A valid driver’s licence is advantageous but not required.

Additional Attributes (Advantageous)

• Understanding of rural community contexts
• Interest in M&E systems and data-driven programming
• Experience with digital tools or data systems (e.g. reporting platforms).
