Identify 3 companies you’d genuinely like to work for. Research what they do, their culture, values and the types of roles they hire for.

👥 2. FIND THE RIGHT PEOPLE
Identify at least 1 recruiter, HR professional or hiring manager at each company.

✍️ 3. PERSONALISE YOUR APPROACH
Use your research to craft a message that stands out. Don’t just ask, “Are you hiring?” Give them a reason to remember you.

Here's a career strategy we don't talk about enough ⬇️

Develop skills that make you employable beyond your current profession.

Skill diversification is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your career.

We've recently started including this topic in our career workshops because the world of work is changing rapidly. AI, automation, shifting business needs, and economic uncertainty mean that no role is guaranteed forever.

The professionals who remain employable over the next decade won't necessarily be those with the most experience - they'll be the ones who have intentionally built skills that open multiple career doors.

Not sure where you stand? Ask yourself:
"If my current role no longer existed tomorrow, what other careers would my skills qualify me for?"

If the answer is "I'm not sure," it may be time to start intentionally building skills that create more career options.

Career strategy isn't just about securing your next role.

Dear Parents, it's time to retire the "just get a job - any job" mentality.

While it may seem like the quickest route to earning an income, the reality is that the first role your child takes after matric or graduating often shapes the opportunities available to them later.

On 25 July, we brought the Empower Them Community Tour to a close - but this is far from the end.

Over 5 unforgettable days, we welcomed young people from 30 different communities across Cape Town, all with one thing in common: the courage to believe that their future can be different.

We didn't just talk about finding jobs. We challenged mindsets, unlocked opportunities, built confidence, and equipped people with the strategies to navigate a changing world of work.

To every person who showed up, every partner who opened a door, every volunteer who served, and every supporter who believed in this vision - thank you. You proved that when communities come together, lives change.

This tour may be over, but the mission continues.

We're not just helping people find jobs. We're helping them change the trajectory of their lives.
