Did you know, once you've sold or purchased a property and it has registered in at the deeds office , it's your responsibility, and not the attorneys, to make sure you have either terminated your account, if you're the seller, or applied for a new account if your the buyer?
It's a couple of steps required to do this.
Sellers : You'll need to terminate, both rates and services accounts, and when journals have been done, municipality will process your refund.
Buyers : First you will need a rates Account, then if services are offered, you'll need to to do the service application as well. If you have a prepaid, it still needs to be registered in your name, NOTE, the device and card remain on the property.
