All of us have a story. A story that has good parts and bad parts. Most of us try to only let people see the good parts. We play the game of life like none of us were ever frogs. Yet all of us, during some part of our lives have made poor choices or had poor attitudes or poor mental states. We have all been frogs at some point and then someone kissed the frog and life begins to change. We need to create safe spaces where Frogs are welcomed so we can see the magic of frogs becoming royalty. That’s what great leaders do!

Words are very powerful. They can create something from nothing. A simple word can get people to feel something they weren’t feeling before. Words can destroy relationships or they can build relationships. They can be used to incite a revolution or to build a kingdom. 1Peter 3:10 actually tells us that if we love life and want to see good days then our words should not be negative. Proverbs tells us that the power of life and death are in the words we speak. Leaders use words to shape culture, set boundaries, shape belief systems, shape values and hopefully empower and release those around them. We see and hear more words in today’s social media context than ever before. But the real secret to using words to build up is... what words are you speaking to yourself. The words you are speaking to yourself are actually the words you will directly or indirectly speak to others. You cannot speak what you ultimately do not carry inside of you. One of the reasons we speak with the Father, is so that our words will shift internally in order to speak life externally. What words are you speaking today? Savour them. Are they bitter or sweet. For only one kind of word can come out of your mouth (James 3:10-11)

When Jesus said, “if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains”, I believe He was saying that when you are focused on Him and the Kingdom, you become as big as He and the Kingdom. Hence, moving a mountain would be easy. You see, we become as big as what we love. And when our focus is on all the problems, we shrink to the size of the problem. Suddenly our filter for life becomes the narrow view of the problem versus the expansive view of Jesus and His Kingdom. Thinking big only works when the object of your affection is bigger than what your thinking about. Is there anything or anyone bigger than Jesus and His Kingdom? Where is your love focused? What problem seems so big (like a mountain) that your feeling overwhelmed? Fall deeper in love with Him and watch that mountain move.
