If you look at this picture you don’t see that I’m disabled, in extreme pain and unable to walk on my own.

I was 8 months pregnant with two dislocated hip flexors. It all started when I fell and broke both knees, 9 months earlier. When I went to the doctors to check my knees I found out I was pregnant; to my pleasant surprise.

The Dr. Advised me to quickly heal because the belly will get bigger and cause me problems. I tried to rest as much as possible for the legs to heal.

Which is when I came up with the idea of Biz Next Step and began to work on it at around 4 months pregnant. I was in severe pain throughout but the excitement of finally holding my baby was worth it. Long ago I was told I couldn’t have children. So she is my miracle.

By the time I took this picture. I had built two new businesses and sustained one. It was hard. And I kept thinking why isn’t there an aid for women in businesses, something for us to fall back on or have external help. So I began to create it. That’s my goal with Biz Next Step.

After giving birth I was completely disabled and bed ridden for three months. Having no income and spending all my savings on medical expenses.

I fought to walk again and at 4 months after birth began to use crutches. It’s taken me nearly a year to recover. I still get pain now and then.

This experience has been a catalyst to healing many internal wounds and trauma that was causing mental health problems before and after pregnancy. I have gone through a deep transformation and spiritual journey. And have had help along the way to become the Queen that I now am.

My goal is for us African Queens to grow together. For our businesses to thrive and for us to be part of the change that Africa needs.
